Heber Springs and the Greers Ferry Lake area gives us residents alot to be proud of and to share with those that visit our beautiful area. Greers Ferry Lake is located in Cleburne County in northcental Arkansas. Greers Ferry Lake stretches from Clinton, in Van Buren county on the western side, to Heber Springs in Cleburne county on the eastern side. Towns in between include Fairfield Bay, Edgemont, Greers Ferry, Higden, Drasco, and areas south of Quitman.
The Little Red River begins at the Greer Ferry Dam in Heber Springs (not counting the same river that flows into the lake at Clinton on the east side). Hence, Heber Springs has all the lake activity of the Greers Ferry and the fishing of the Little Red right outside its front door.
Little Red is world renown for its world-class trout fishing. Many record fish have been caught over the years, along with countless trophy fish. The fish hatchery below the Dam supplies rainbow trout to the Little Red and is operated by the United States Corp of Engineers.
The scenic beauty of our area, from the river and lake to the mountains and hills, is a good reason to visit or think of relocating to our area. Heber Springs was recently ranked in the top 20 of Field & Stream's "Best Outdoors in America". Another reason, is our people. You will find the people of Heber Springs very warm, welcoming and helpful as you visit. We are very proud of our area and welcome you! God Bless.
